Description
Balfour Farm is owned by Doug and Heather Donahue. We are a certified organic farmstead creamery. We have operated with a closed dairy herd since 2007, which means we raise all of our animals.
We are a farmstead cheesemaker milking our 12 Normande cows. We have a variety of cheeses and cultured products: whole milk yogurts, buttermilk, soft cheeses, feta and raw milk aged cheeses (cheddars, gouda, tomme).
The farm raises pigs for meat, they happily forage in the woods surrounding the barns, and enjoy the extra whey from cheesemaking. In 2020, a market garden, Tiny Acres, was added to the farm. Tiny Acres is operated by the Donahue's daughter Erin and her partner David.
